GENERAL INFORMATION AND CONDITIONS
BOOKINGS: When booking please state full name, number of people, exact pick up time and location (flight no.) and drop off location. You will receive booking confirmation by email, fax or post, please advise of contact details.
DAILY HIRE CHARGES: The daily hire charge includes gst ( local tax @ 15% ),the compulsory insurance payment with bond / excess NZ$2000. Free kilometer allowances. Daily rates are calculated on a 24 hour day .
ONE WAY HIRES: One way hires are possible. One way fees depend on circumstances and length of hire.

DRIVERS: A valid full driving license (state, national or international) is required. Minimum age: 19 years and a minimum of two years driving experience is required . There is no special license requirement to drive the vans. Only those individuals named on the rental agreement are authorized to drive the vehicle.
INSURANCE: Standard insurance is a full insurance but excludes the first NZ$ 2000.00 of any accident. Credit card details are required, if the client does not have a credit card, then a refundable payment of NZ$ 2,000.00 via eftpos or cash is required. We do have a waiver to lower this excess to zero, $50 one off fee for 4 day or less hires, $10 per day for 5 to 14 day hires and $8 per day for 15day+ hires.
FUEL: The fuel level will be noted on your rental contract at the commencement of the hire & must must be returned with the same amount at the end of your hire. The vehicle will usually be full on pick up.
ON ROAD HELP AND VEHICLE REPAIRS: HardyCars vehicles are maintained and serviced to the highest standard, however this does not prevent the occasional mechanical malfunction. In the event of mechanical problems we recommend you ring AA Roadside Assistance on toll-free 0800 500 222, assistance will be provided through AA-approved service agents throughout New Zealand. Please call us first on 0800 90 30 10.
We must be informed if repairs costing in excess of $20 are required before any work is commenced. We will approve repairs provided the Hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts must be submitted or the cost can not be refunded. No responsibility for accommodation charges, meals or out-of-pocket expenses resulting from a breakdown will be accepted. Our liability extends only to refund of hire charges for any days of total loss of vehicles usage caused by a mechanical breakdown but not by an accident
Malfunctions of radio-cassettes, cabin lights, air-conditioning are not considered mechanical breakdowns and downtime will not be paid.
PAYMENT: Deposit (advised individually) is required to secure your booking , remaining balance payable at pickup . Bookings will not be confirmed until the deposit is received.
CANCELLATIONS: No extra fees will be charged for cancellations up to 14 days prior to the start of the hire but the deposit is non-refundable except under proven special circumstances.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance at the time of booking your international flights to New Zealand. Your local travel agent will help you with further advice & information on what type of cover you will need during your travel.
FERRY: We strongly recommend to book the ferry in advance due to high demand - we can do this for you. Please advise of every persons name as well as preferred date/time of crossing when booking.
